lecture by robin d. g. kelley. 7pm.

“when africa was ‘the thing’: modern jazz in revolutionary times.” kelley is a professor of american studies and ethnicity at the university of southern california.



seattle restaurant week.

seattle restaurant week ends tomorrow! check out the participating restaurants throughout seattle that are offering $15 three-course lunches and $25 three-course dinners.

FRIDAY 10/29:

the very last date night.

many organizations offer two-for-one tickets/admission to tuesday and friday events, just mention arts crush at the box office!

tonight includes “lucia di lammermoor” at mccaw hall, “money changes everything” at annex theatre, “the lady with all the answers” at act, etc.

free. all ages. starts at broadway & pine.

costume contest hosted/emceed by sylvia o’stayformore 6pm. procession of lost souls parade with the renegayde pep band 7-8pm

also: blood manor haunted house on broadway. 6-10pm. canceled!

street level, joule apartments. broadway & republican.

$5 suggested donation (supports local groups like capitol hill chamber of commerce, vera project, wa bus). 13+.

“the rocky horror picture show” at century ballroom. 8pm.
