jonathan bloom. 7pm.

university bookstore. 4326 university way ne.

free. all ages. bloom is the author of american wasteland: how america throws away nearly half of its food (and what we can do about it). he will be reading and signing his book.

THURSDAY 3/10:

performance of nick cave’s “suits.” 4pm.

free. all ages. downtown seattle.

follow cave’s suits (worn/performed by spectrum dance theater co. dancers), which will begin in nordstrom’s display window—>the light rail.

also: special sam party. 5:30pm.

sam is throwing a free (with admission) party celebrating the opening of the “nick cave: meet me at the center of the earth” exhibition! the “suits” will be performing and there will be live musical performances by orkestrar zirconium!

39th annual st. patrick’s day parade. 12:30pm.

downtown seattle —> seattle center.

free. all ages. begins on 4th ave., follows the monorail north, ending at seattle center for the closing ceremonies (2pm) where there will be:

the irish festival. noon-6pm.

free. all ages. there will be all things irish; music, food, dancing, workshops, lectures, contests, products to purchase, display/exhibits, films, and more!

SUNDAY 3/13:

DON’T FORGET ABOUT DAYLIGHT SAVINGS (2AM)

st. patrick’s day dash. 8:30am.

begins in lower queen anne near seattle center.

$30+ (includes t-shirt). all ages. there are different waves depending on skill level. “post dash bash” at seattle center 9am-1pm with live music, free food, giveaways, beer garden, awards, and more!
