free. all ages. uw undergrad architecture students will be presenting their proposals for the capitol hill light rail station. light lunch will be provided.

joanne woiak, uw disability studies. 6-7:30pm.

room 220, odegaard, university of washington.

free. all ages. “voices from the washington archives: eugenics and forced sterilizations in state institutions.” this is part of the “unspeakable: disability, history, identity, and rights” lecture series.

“9-5” office party. 7pm.

central cinema. 1411 21st ave.

$8 adv/$10 door. all ages. film screening of “9-5” and office party with name tags, bring a photocopy of your butt for free popcorn, chance to win tickets to the 9-5 the musical, and more!

THURSDAY 3/17: ST. PATRICK’S DAY

“hip-hop showcase.” 7:30-10:30pm.

ethnic cultural theatre. 3940 brooklyn ne.

$4. all ages. presented by uw chid 250 students, featuring spoken word, break dancers, slam poetry, music, and more! $1 raffle tickets available for purchase. all proceeds benefit the umojafest p.e.a.c.e. center.

FRIDAY 3/18:

14th annual daffodil day/daffodil giveaway! 11:30am-1pm.

pike place market area, downtown.

free. all ages. pike place market community members will be handing out 12,000 daffodils to people in the area to celebrate spring (sun 3/20)!

SATURDAY 3/19:

“r&b baked goods potluck showdown.” 4pm.

arabica lounge. 1550 e. olive way.

SUNDAY 3/20: 1ST DAY OF SPRING

“the bushwick book club seattle presents original music inspired by shel silverstein.” 9pm.

$7 general/$12 vip. over 15 artists will write and perform songs in response to shel silverstein’s where the sidewalk ends.
